In Her Cooking Era

01.27.23

Last weekend was my daughter’s 13th birthday and she requested homemade noodles and bolognese sauce for her dinner.

It was fun to cook together all day but those fresh noodles at Whole Foods could have saved me a shit ton of time lol. I have to say I felt like a legit mom making our noodles from scratch, but it won’t be our new normal I can tell ya that.

Anywho, here’s the recipe for the sauce. It was THICK (which I liked), but add more tomato sauce if you prefer it runnier.

INGREDIENTS

2 tbs evoo

2 tbs grassfed butter

1 yellow onion minced

1 large carrot peeled and diced

4-5 cloves of garlic pressed

1 pound ground pork

1 pound grassfed beef

12 pepperoni

2 28oz cans crushed tomatoes

12 oz tomato past

heavy pinch of fresh parsley

1 tsp sugar

heavy shake of red pepper flakes

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup red wine

salt + pepper

DIRECTIONS

+ mix thoroughly and cook for 10 min on medium heat

+ low heat/ simmer for 2 hours

+ add sauce over your noodles. garnish with parsley, basil, parm cheese, and drops of ricotta (stole Sivan’s tip of lemon zest on the ricotta and it was the right move)

+ in a pan melt the butter and evoo, add onions, then carrots and garlic.

+ next add the meat and cook until there is no pink

+ I then transferred this into my Le Creuset pot and then added the tomatoes, tomato paste, parsley, sugar, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, and red wine

+ once mixed, then add the milk
