Caring for your extensions.. after you leave the salon.

AFTERCARE

WE NEED TO TALK…

Feeling fly in your new extensions? GOOD! But now we gotta have a little chat about how to care for your extensions in your day-to-day life. Please take the time to review these instructions carefully. Trust us, your extensions will thank you later.

CLEANSE

+ Brush hair to remove any tangles and to prevent matting B E F O R E showering.

+ Use a sulfate free shampoo + conditioner to prolong your hair color and extensions (we suggest Iles Formula or R+CO Bleu Essential line).

+ Gently shampoo all of your natural hair, and in between your rows as well. do not scrub vigorously. we suggest a double shampoo to fully clean the hair.

+ Rinse well. do not leave any product behind.

+ Apply conditioner (again we highly recommend iles formula). use a wet brush and brush

the conditioner through your hair and extensions, for even distribution and to seal down

the cuticle.

+ Rinse well. do not leave any product behind.

+ We recommend a weekly mask to moisturize + nourish your hair.

+ Absorb soaking wet hair with a micro fiber towel.

BRUSH AND BLOW DRY

+ Using a Wet Brush, start from the ends of your hair and work your way up.

+ Once you reach the top of the weft, stop brushing.

+ We suggest clipping everything up except your natural hair underneath your bottom row, and start your brushing with that.
Next, drop down your bottom row and brush that out.
Next, drop out your natural hair in between the two rows, and brush that out.
Next, drop out your top row and brush that out.
Finally, drop out your natural that is on top to complete the brushing process.

+ Apply a heat protectant like Iles Formula #3 Finishing Serum.

+ Rough dry your hair 80% of the way (No tugging at the extensions with a round brush or comb. Use only your hands and fingers.)

+ For a faster blow dry, section out each row and rough dry them separately.

+ You can use a round brush and a small amount of tension to smooth your hair and the extensions, the last 20% of your blowdry.

STYLING

+ Always use a heat protectant.

+ Keep your hot tool temperatures low (320* or below).

+ Limit your heat styling to 2-3x a week.

SLEEP

+ Brush thoroughly and make sure you're going to bed with D R Y hair.

+ Do one or two loose braids and secure with a silk scrunchie. A loose low pony is another option.

+ Sleep on a silk pillowcase.

DO’S

+ Wash hair 2x a week for optimal scalp health

+ Use a moisturizing mask 1x a week

+ Keep hair tangle free with frequent brushing

+ Apply serums and a CLEAR oil daily to keep ends moisturized

+ Coat extension hair with filtered water and a leave in conditioner to act as a barrier, prior to going into the ocean. Then use a clarifying shampoo immediately after (do this at your own risk. for optimal extension longevity, avoid dunking in oceans, rivers, lakes, and pools)

+ Invest in a water filter for your shower head to prevent unwanted minerals from depositing on your hair + extensions

DON’TS

+ Brush over the seam of your extension wefts

+ Let sunscreen touch your extensions

+ Let bronzing / tanning lotions touch your extensions

+ Use a gold hair oil, it will discolor the extensions

+ Use purple shampoo

+ Use protein based hair products

+ Go to bed with wet hair

+ Go underwater in pools with chlorine

+ Use shampoos with sulfates
